Set up Gambit in your Jira Cloud site in five steps
A Jira admin installs Gambit from the Atlassian Marketplace, then runs its setup wizard. Before it changes anything, the wizard lists each space, field, workflow, scheme, group and security level it adds or changes. After setup, import your old CRM's exports, connect Gambit Mail Sync and invite your team.

Before you start
Have these ready before you install:
- A Jira Cloud site.
- Someone with Jira admin rights to run setup.
- Your old CRM's exports, if you're moving from Salesforce, HubSpot or Pipedrive.
- Someone who can approve Gambit Mail Sync in Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace.
Install Gambit from the Atlassian Marketplace
Open the listing on the Atlassian Marketplace and choose Get it now or Try it free. Pick your Jira site and confirm. Atlassian shows the permissions the app requests before you approve them. Then, in Manage apps, choose Configure under Gambit to start the setup wizard. Free on Jira sites of up to 10 users. Larger sites start with a free trial of every feature of the edition they install.
Run the setup wizard and check each change first
First, set your reporting currency, the month your fiscal year starts and your own email domains. The domains separate your team's email from your customers'. Next, name the spaces, choose who sees customers, deals and their email, and pick industry packs. Choose Everyone in Jira, or limit Gambit to a group you pick. SaaS and Professional services packs are ready. Before you apply, download the full change list as a JSON file for your change records. Apply runs one object at a time. Close the tab and it resumes at the next object, with no duplicates. If Jira refuses a change, you see Jira's own message and a Try again key.
Import your Salesforce, HubSpot or Pipedrive exports
Bring exports from Salesforce, HubSpot or Pipedrive, or a spreadsheet, and start with a dry run before anything is created. Owners are matched by email, then by name, and you can undo an import for 14 days. Imports run only for Gambit's admins group, since they change records across the site. Setup adds whoever runs it to that group.

Connect Gambit Mail Sync
Gambit Mail Sync is a second app on the Atlassian Marketplace. It captures customer email from Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace onto the right account and deal, with no BCC. Install it, then pair the two apps with one code. Mail Sync's page in Jira settings › Apps shows the code, and so do Gambit's Mail settings. Then connect mailboxes.
Capture needs a paid Gambit plan.
Mail Sync requires an active Gambit subscription.
Microsoft 365 users connect their own mailbox wherever their IT allows it, or IT connects everyone; Google Workspace capture is connected by the IT admin; capture is labelled beta; personal Gmail opens after Google's review, with a waitlist.

Invite your team
Share the Gambit link in Jira's app menu. If you chose Everyone in Jira during setup, people who can open the CRM space start straight away. If you limited Gambit to a group, add your team to that group. Each person opens the records Jira lets them see, uses Ask, comments, attaches files and adds contacts. Jira guests are not Gambit users unless an admin adds them to Gambit's users group.

Who can install Gambit?
A Jira admin. The setup wizard runs in your browser as you, so it needs Jira admin rights. Limiting Gambit to a new group also needs a site admin. If that isn't you, the wizard shows a ready-to-send message for your site admin. It continues once the group exists.
What does setup change in my site?
Setup creates three company-managed spaces, keyed RBCRM, RBDIR and RBACT by default, and you can pick other keys. It creates or reuses the fields, workflows, schemes, group and security levels it needs. Before you apply, the wizard shows each one, with before and after values for anything it modifies. The summary line reads "Nothing existing will be deleted."
Does Gambit work on Jira Free?
Yes. Gambit works on every Jira plan, and imports and industry packs work on Jira Free too. On Jira Free the setup wizard skips the access question and says why in one line. After an upgrade to Jira Standard, Gambit offers within a day to add its security levels.
On Jira Free, everyone on the site sees every record; private deals need Jira Standard or above.
Which languages does Gambit support?
Gambit shows its screens in English, German, Spanish, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese and Simplified Chinese. Each person gets the language they use Jira in, or English for other languages. Each person picks their own in their Atlassian account under Account preferences › Language. European Portuguese reads Brazilian Portuguese.
